Honestly, I’m pretty concerned about the air quality and general upkeep at Mary Lyon. I saw a public report about the board needing to do emergency asbestos patching on the pipe insulation in the air plenum—that’s literally where the air my kid breathes is circulating. It feels like they are just putting Band-Aids on a really old, decaying building. Plus, the staff seems stretched super thin; you’ve got 'miscellaneous workers' basically jumping from role to role just to keep the day running. It’s hard to feel like they have a solid grip on student health or cleanliness when they’re struggling with basic infrastructure and staffing. While I’m glad they finally got a playground, it doesn't make up for the fact that the actual building environment feels a bit neglected and risky.
