A Genius in the Making Developmental Academy INC.

To be honest, I’m pretty frustrated with the situation at A Genius in the Making. It feels like every other week my little one is coming home with some kind of bug, and I’m not convinced they’re doing deep cleans of the toys or the floor space in West Englewood. The communication on health is basically non-existent; you don't find out a stomach flu is going around until your kid is already sick. Also, it’s really hard to get a straight answer on their sick-child policy—one day they’re strict, and the next day you see kids with obvious fevers being dropped off. It’s tough because I need the childcare, but the constant illness and lack of clear wellness standards are a huge stressor for our family.

My little one has been at A Genius in the Making for a few months now and honestly, the cleanliness is pretty solid for a daycare. You know how these places can usually smell like old juice and diapers, but it actually feels fresh when I walk in. They are super strict about the sick policy—if your kid has a fever, they are calling you immediately and you have to keep them home for 24 hours. It’s a bit of a hassle when you’re working, but it definitely keeps the flu from spreading through the whole classroom. The teachers are also really good about making sure the kids wash their hands constantly. I do wish they had a bit more of a formal wellness update in the daily reports, but overall I feel like my son is in a safe, healthy spot.
