  • Honestly, it’s a bit of a mixed bag at Allison’s on Racine. On one hand, you can tell they care about nutrition since they actually hire dedicated food aides and talk about wellness programs in their job postings, which is better than most daycares in Englewood. But the communication about when bugs are going around could definitely be better. There've been a few times my little one came home with a nasty cold and I didn't get a heads-up from the staff until half the class was already out. It's affordable and they offer transportation which is a lifesaver, but you definitely have to be your own advocate when it comes to checking on the cleanliness of the play mats and making sure they're sticking to the sick-policy.

  • I've had my little one at Allison's for about six months now, and honestly, the staff is so great with the tiny ones. In terms of health, the place always looks and smells clean which is a huge relief when you're dealing with crawling toddlers. They are pretty strict about the sickness policy—if your kid as a fever, you're definitely getting that call to pick them up right away—but honestly, I appreciate it because it keeps the usual daycare bugs from spreading to everyone else. My only minor gripe is sometimes the communication about a cold going through the classroom could be a little faster, but overall they do a solid job keeping the environment healthy for the babies.
