  • Tbh I’m pretty frustrated with how things are going at Randolph. The building is definitely showing its age and there have been recurring issues with the water tanks and plumbing that honestly make me worry about the kids' hygiene and access to clean water during the day. On top of the facility stuff, catching the staff for health updates is a struggle because the school seems so stretched thin. Attendance is always a bit of a gamble here too, and with so many kids out sick or just absent, it feels like there’s a constant cycle of germs going around the classroom. It’s hard to focus on 'wellness' when basic maintenance and staffing feel like an afterthought.

  • My son has been at Randolph Elementary for two years now, and honestly, the school is kept pretty clean for a CPS building. They’re really on top of it when something like the stomach flu or strep starts going around—I always get an email or a notification so I can keep an eye out for symptoms. The nurse there is super sweet and actually calls to give a real update if my kid scrapes a knee or has a headache, rather than just sending home a generic slip. My only gripe is that the sick-child policy can be a bit strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which is hard for working parents, but I get that they're just trying to keep the germs away. Overall, it feels like a safe, healthy spot for the kids.
