  • Tbh, I’m pretty frustrated with the health situation at Claremont. The attendance rates have been consistently low, and you can really see why when you walk into the building. It just doesn't feel like the cleanest environment, especially for the Pre-K and little ones. My kid has been sent home multiple times because something was going around, but the school isn't great about communicating what exactly is happening or taking extra steps to sanitize the high-touch areas. It feels like we are constantly fighting off some bug from the classroom. Plus, the school seems pulled in a million directions with all the recent capital and board discussions, and it definitely feels like daily wellness and nurse availability have taken a back seat to administrative stuff. Hard to feel good about sending your kid to a place where chronic absenteeism is so high and the overall vibe is just kind of 'good luck not getting sick.'

  • Hey parents, Claremont Academy Elementary has been reliable health-wise for my kiddo in this Logan Square CPS PK-8 (~300 students). No major violations or outbreaks show up in CPS or city health data, and they've got standard nurse access for meds, allergies, and checkups. Classrooms stay clean enough, teachers enforce handwashing and quick sick-kid sends home, plus a solid 13:1 ratio helps catch fevers early. We've had the usual colds (flu season is rough!) but nothing wild; front door security feels safe too. Great community feel—keeps our child healthy and happy.
