  • Honestly, A-Karrasel is just okay when it comes to the health stuff. It’s a typical city daycare—the rooms feel a bit cramped which makes me worry when flu season hits because the kids are basically on top of each other. I did a deep dive and saw they had some food inspection follow-ups a few years back, which is a little nerve-wracking, though they seem to have cleared things up since then. Communication about colds going around is hit or miss; sometimes I get a heads-up and other times I find out because my little one brings it home. It's affordable and local for Logan Square, but I definitely keep the hand sanitizer ready at pickup.

  • My kid has been at A-Karrasel in Logan Square for about a year now. Honestly, for a daycare, they stay on top of the 'crud' surprisingly well. I feel like the teachers are always wiping down surfaces when I walk in, and they actually stick to their sick policy—it can be annoying when my son has to stay home for a runny nose, but I appreciate that they aren't letting everything spread through the whole class. They’re super quick to call or shoot an update if someone gets a fever. Only downside is the playground area gets a bit muddy and messy after it rains, but overall the inside is clean and the staff really seems to care about keeping the kids healthy.
