To be honest, I'm pretty uneasy about some things I've seen at Crystal Hands. While the location in Portage Park is convenient, the health standards are concerning. I checked the city records and they’ve had 7 health-related violations across their last couple of inspections, which is way too many for a place with tiny kids and infants. It makes me question how often they're actually deep-cleaning the toys and common areas. Plus, they aren't BBB accredited, and the communication regarding sickness in the classroom has been pretty spotty. I really wanted to like this place because it's 'affordable,' but the lack of transparency about health protocols and the inspection red flags make it hard to feel like my child is in a truly clean environment.

Honestly, I’ve been really happy with Crystal Hands so far. The Portage Park location is super convenient, and the place always smells clean when I drop off my daughter, which is a big relief. They’re pretty strict about the '24-hour symptom-free' rule for things like fevers and rashes, which can be a pain when you have to work, but it definitely keeps the bugs from spreading through the whole classroom every week. I get a quick text or a call if she’s acting off or seems like she’s coming down with something. It feels like a safe, healthy spot for the little ones.
