Mark Sheridan Elementary Math & Science Academy

Honestly, Mark Sheridan is a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to health. On one hand, the school has been pushing for more 'wellness' in their plans and trying to send home more positive communications, but the reality on the ground feels a little different. The building is older, and sometimes you can really tell—the ventilation isn't the best, especially during flu season when things start to feel a bit stuffy and germs just linger in the classrooms. Attendance is okay, but with the pressure of being a math and science magnet, I feel like kids sometimes push themselves to come in when they're actually under the weather, and the sick-child policy isn't always enforced strictly by all the teachers. It's a decent school for academics, but I'd like to see them put as much focus on the actual physical environment and air quality as they do on their test scores.
