Busy Bees After School Learning Center

Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with how things are going at Busy Bees. The facility on Canal Street feels super cramped since it's just on the first floor of that building, and it never really feels like it’s been deep-cleaned. My kid has come home with a different bug every other week, and I rarely get a heads-up from the staff when hand-foot-and-mouth or a stomach flu is going around the classroom. It feels like they’re understaffed because the ratio of kids to adults seems way off lately, which makes me worry they aren't keeping up with sanitizing the toys or making sure the kids are actually washing their hands well. For the price, I expected a much better wellness culture, but right now it feels like a giant petri dish.

I've had my son at Busy Bees for about six months now and honestly, I'm pretty relieved with how they handle things. Being in a busy spot like Chinatown, I was worried about germs, but the place always smells clean when I pick him up, not like old juice and feet lol. They are really strict about the '24-hour fever free' rule which can be a pain when you have to work, but it definitely keeps the seasonal bugs from spreading through the whole class like wildfire. The staff is great about texting if he seems a little sluggish or off his game, which I appreciate. Wish they had a bit more outdoor time for exercise when the weather is nice, but overall it’s a solid, healthy spot for him after school.
