  • To be honest, I've been pretty underwhelmed with how things are handled at Busy Bees. The facility is in an older building in Bridgeport and it definitely shows—the ventilation feels really stuffy and it never quite smells 'clean' in the hallways. My little one seems to bring home every single bug that goes around, and I feel like the sick-child policy is barely enforced because I see kids dropped off with clear symptoms all the time. Communication from the staff about outbreaks (like hand, foot, and mouth or flu) is super delayed or just nonexistent. It feels like they are frequently understaffed, so the teachers are too overwhelmed to really keep up with deep cleaning the toys or monitoring the kids' hygiene properly. I'm honestly looking at other options nearby because the constant illnesses are just too much for our family.

  • My toddler has been at Busy Bees for about six months now and honestly, I’m pretty happy with how they handle the 'daycare plague' cycles. Being in an urban spot in Bridgeport, you’d think the space might feel cramped or stuffy, but they keep the first and second floors really tidy and the air circulation seems decent. I really appreciate that they actually stick to their sick policy—if a kid has a fever, they are sent home, no exceptions. It’s annoying when it’s your kid, but it keeps the whole class from catching everything. They’re great about sending quick updates if something like HFM or a stomach bug is going around so we can keep an eye out. Only downside is the outdoor play area is a bit small given the city location, but they do their best to keep the kids active indoors when the weather is bad.
