Lenart Elementary Regional Gifted Center

Honestly, the health environment at Lenart is pretty solid compared to other CPS schools. Since it's a smaller gifted center, the staff really knows the kids, which helps when someone is feeling under the weather. My daughter says the building stays decently clean, and I haven't noticed that 'old school' dusty smell you get in some of the bigger budget-strapped buildings. Attendance is usually really high here because the kids are so driven, so you don't see that 'revolving door' of sickness as much, though the academic pressure can definitely lead to some stress-related headaches for the older kids. My only real gripe is the communication when a bug starts going around—it can be a bit slow sometimes on the official emails, so we usually rely on the parent group chat to know what’s actually happening. But overall, they do a good job of enforcing the sick policy and making sure kids aren't coming in with fevers. It feels like a safe, healthy spot for the kids to focus on their work without constantly dealing with facility issues or major hygiene drama.
