  • To be honest, I’ve been pretty frustrated with the health situation at Bright Scholars. It’s a storefront daycare in Auburn Gresham and it feels like my little one is coming home with a new bug every other week. The communication about illnesses going around the classroom is basically non-existent, so I never know if it's just a cold or something like HFM until my kid is already sick. It doesn't always feel like the cleanest space, and with the local area schools having some pretty high absenteeism rates, it's clear the wellness culture here isn't a priority. They definitely need better sanitizing protocols because the revolving door of germs is exhausting for working parents.

  • Honestly, I’ve been really happy with how Bright Scholars handles things. My toddler is always coming home with messy hands from play, but I notice the teachers are super on top of handwashing and wiping down the toy bins. They have a pretty strict fever policy—if your kid is even slightly warm, they’re calling you to pick them up—which can be a hassle for work, but it definitely keeps the nasty bugs from spreading through the whole class. The facility on Ashland always smells clean when I walk in, not like that old milk smell some daycares have. Communication about when a kid in the room has a cold is usually pretty fast too.
