  • To be honest, I’ve been pretty frustrated with the health situation at Joyful Beginnings. My little one seems to bring home a new bug every single week, and I’m starting to wonder how often they’re actually deep-cleaning the toys and shared spaces. The building on 79th feels a bit cramped and the ventilation isn't great, which doesn't help when stuff starts going around. Communication about illnesses in the classroom is pretty hit-or-miss; sometimes I only find out a stomach bug is ripping through the group when I see half the kids are missing at drop-off. I know it's a neighborhood daycare, but for what we pay, I'd expect better heads-up on germs and maybe a stricter policy on keeping sick kids home so everyone else doesn't catch it.

  • To be honest, I’ve had some real concerns with the cleanliness at Joyful Beginnings. My little one seems to bring home a new bug every other week, and it feels like the stomach flu just cycles through the rooms constantly without a deep clean. The building on 79th is older and it shows—I've noticed some dust buildup and the ventilation isn't great, which doesn't help with the kids' allergies. Communication about outbreaks is pretty hit or miss; I usually find out from another parent in the parking lot rather than a formal notice from the staff. It’s a convenient location in Auburn Gresham, but for what we pay, I really expected a much stricter sick-child policy and a cleaner environment.
