  • Honestly, I’ve been pretty frustrated with the health situation at Ivy Garden. It feels like every other week my kid is coming home with a new bug, and the communication about what's going around is basically nonexistent. They don't really give us a heads up when several kids in the class are out with the same thing, so we're always caught off guard. The space is pretty tight since it's just the two floors, and honestly, it doesn't always look like it’s had a deep clean. With the ratios being what they are, the teachers just seem too stretched thin to wipe down toys or keep up with the handwashing like they should. It’s hard to feel good about the wellness culture there when it feels like a constant cycle of sickness.

  • My little one has been at Ivy Garden in Bridgeport for a few months now and honestly, I’ve been pretty happy with how they handle the usual daycare germs. The place looks and smells clean whenever I do drop-off, and they are really strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be annoying when you have to work, but it definitely keeps the whole class from getting sick at once. They’re good about sending out emails if something like hand-foot-and-mouth is going around so we can keep an eye out. My only tiny gripe is that I wish they’d spend a bit more time playing outside on the nicer days for the fresh air, but overall, it’s a solid, healthy spot for the kids.
