  • I've had my kid at Ivy Garden for a bit now and honestly, the cleanliness is one of the things that keeps me from stressing out. Since it's a smaller center in Bridgeport, I was worried about it being a germ factory, but they actually keep the classrooms really tidy and the staff is super strict about their sick policy. If a kid has a runny nose that looks questionable, they're calling you, which can be a pain if you're at work but I appreciate it because it keeps the 'daycare plague' from spreading to everyone else. The communication about health stuff is pretty solid too, and I haven't noticed any weird smells or ventilation issues like you see in some of the older Chicago buildings. It's a warm environment and I feel like they actually care about the kids' wellness rather than just being a babysitting service.

  • My toddler has been at Ivy Garden for a few months now and honestly, I'm pretty impressed with how they handle the germs. It’s a daycare, so kids are obviously going to get sick, but the teachers are really on top of wiping down the toys and making sure the little ones wash their hands constantly. I love that they actually call you right away if a kid has a fever instead of just letting it slide, which helps keep the 'daycare plague' from spreading to the whole class. The only downside is the sick policy is super strict—if they have a runny nose that isn't clear, you’re keeping them home—but in the long run, I guess it keeps everyone healthier. The facility in Bridgeport always smells clean and not like old milk or diapers, which is a huge win in my book!
