Henry Booth House

I'm honestly feeling pretty mixed about Henry Booth House. While the staff seems like they mean well, the communication regarding wellness is almost non-existent. It’s a bit weird—when you look them up, half the info is about residential addiction treatment or health centers, and it makes me wonder how much focus is actually on the daycare environment versus their other programs. The facility at 2929 S Wabash feels a bit cramped, and I've noticed kids being dropped off with obvious coughs and runny noses without any pushback from the staff. It feels like they are spread way too thin and don't have a solid handle on keeping the germs at bay. Definitely not the cleanest-looking space I've seen in Bronzeville.

Honestly, I’ve been really happy with how Henry Booth House handles all the health stuff. They are super strict about the sick policy—if your kid even has a slight fever, they’re calling you to come get them—which can be a hassle for work, but at least the whole classroom doesn't get taken down by the same bug. The facility is on the first floor and I always see the staff wipedown surfaces and keeping the play areas looking fresh when I drop off my daughter. It’s a solid, clean spot for the neighborhood.
