  • Honestly, Great Expectations is a bit of a mixed bag. The location on Central Ave is super convenient for us, and the staff is really caring, but I've definitely had some concerns lately about the turnover and how it affects the germs going around. It feels like every other week there’s a new bug circulating, and I wish they were a bit more proactive with communication when a kid gets sent home sick. The facility looks okay, but it’s an older building so I always worry a bit about the ventilation and how deep they’re actually cleaning the rugs and toys. Like most daycares in the city, the student-to-teacher ratio feels tight, so I’m not sure the teachers can always keep up with every runny nose before it spreads. It's affordable and fine for now, but it definitely feels average—no huge red flags, but not exactly a 'wellness' focused center either.

  • Honestly, Great Expectations has been pretty solid for my little one. The place always smells like it's just been wiped down, and I rarely see toys just sitting out dirty. They have a pretty strict policy about keeping the kids home for 24 hours after a fever, which can be a pain for my work schedule, but I get it because it keeps the bugs from hitting everyone at once. Communication is usually via the app, so I know right away if any kid in the room has a runny nose or anything more serious. Only gripe is I wish they did a bit more outside time when the weather is nice for 'wellness,' but for a city daycare, they do a great job keeping things hygienic.
