  • Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with how things are going at Rachel’s. The communication when kids get sick is basically non-existent, and it feels like there’s always a bug going around because the sick-child policy isn't strictly enforced. The building on North Ave feels pretty cramped and dated, which makes me worry about the ventilation and how deep they’re actually cleaning at night. It’s hard to feel good about the wellness culture when the staff-to-kid ratio feels stretched so thin; it seems like they’re just in survival mode rather than focusing on a healthy environment. I've seen better cleanliness standards elsewhere in Austin.

  • To be honest, I've been pretty frustrated with the health situation at Rachel’s. The North Ave location is convenient, but it feels like there's a revolving door of colds and stomach bugs. I know it’s a daycare in the city, but the communication when something is going around is basically non-existent. You just show up and see a tiny handwritten note on the door if you’re lucky. The classrooms feel pretty cramped and stuffy, and I’ve definitely had concerns about the ventilation and how often they’re actually deep-cleaning the toys and surfaces. It’s hard to feel good about dropping your kid off when you see other kids there who obviously have fevers or heavy coughs because the sick policy isn't being enforced strictly enough. It's okay in a pinch, but I'm looking for somewhere that takes wellness a bit more seriously.
