Orozco Fine Arts & Sciences Elementary School

Honestly, I’m pretty worried about the health environment at Orozco right now. My kid has been coming home complaining about how cold it is in the classrooms, and looking at the recent board agendas, they’ve been scrambling to fix burners and heating relays since last October. It feels like the building maintenance is always playing catch-up, which isn't great when flu season hits and the ventilation is already questionable. On top of that, the chronic absenteeism is high, and you can really feel it—when one kid gets sick, it seems like half the class is out a week later. I love the arts focus, but the school needs to get a handle on the basic facility health and wellness stuff. It’s hard for the kids to focus on science and painting when they're shivering or passing around whatever bug is going around because the deep cleaning isn't cutting it.
