Honestly, I’ve been pretty happy with how All Star Kids Academy handles things. Since they have the 'Preschool For All' program and work with the city, they seem to follow much stricter cleaning protocols than some of the other neighborhood daycares I looked at. My little one is in the toddler room, and while you can't avoid the usual daycare sniffles, I’ve noticed the staff is actually proactive about wiping down surfaces and keeping the 'enhanced cleaning' schedule they talk about in their materials. It’s a relief not to have a new virus coming home every single week. Communication regarding sick kids has been solid, and they really stick to their exclusion policies which helps keep the germs from spreading too fast.

I've had my toddler here for about six months and honestly, it's pretty good for a city daycare. The facility is always clean and doesn't have that weird 'gym socks' smell you find in some places. They are super strict about their sick policy though—if your kid as much as sneezes twice, you're getting a call to pick them up. It's a bit of a pain for work, but honestly, it’s probably why my son hasn't caught every single bug going around the Near West Side. Communication is decent, they usually send out an email if there's hand foot and mouth or something going around so we can keep an eye out.
