Honestly, I have mixed feelings about North Star. The staff is nice enough, but it feels like there's a constant bug going around the classrooms and my toddler is home sick more often than they are actually there. Communication about when a kid in the class has something contagious is pretty hit or miss, which is frustrating when you're trying to prep for work. Also, the building itself is an older space in West Humboldt Park and it definitely feels cramped. Sometimes I worry about how well they can actually sanitize everything when there are so many kids packed into the smaller rooms. It’s okay if you’re in a pinch for childcare, but for the price and the frequent 'daycare crud' my kid catches, I'm looking at other options with better ventilation.
