Being real with you guys, I'm pretty frustrated with the health situation at Garvey. The chronic absenteeism is a massive red flag—it’s been hovering way above 20%, which tells me kids are either constantly sick or checking out. It feels like we’re always playing catch-up because so many students are out at once. Also, the building itself feels like it’s lacking; I’ve seen multiple board agendas lately just trying to get funding for basic ADA compliance and building changes. If they're still moving money around just to make the school accessible, you can imagine how slow they are to fix vent issues or keep the classrooms deep-cleaned. It’s hard to feel great about the 'wellness culture' when the school is struggling with the basics.
