To be honest, I’ve been pretty frustrated with the health situation at Caterpillars to Butterflies. It feels like my little one is coming home with a new bug every other week, and I’m not convinced they’re doing deep cleans of the toys or common areas like they should. The communication when a kid gets sick in class is super spotty—I usually find out from another mom in the parking lot before I hear anything from the staff. For a place in this area, I expected a bit more of a proactive approach to wellness, but it feels more like they’re just reactive when someone finally gets a fever. It’s hard to keep my kid there when I’m constantly burning through my own sick days because the daycare environment feels like a revolving door for germs.

My little one has been at Caterpillars to Butterflies for a few months now and I’m pretty happy with the health vibe there. The facility on Vincennes always looks and smells super clean when I do drop-offs, which is a huge relief when you've got toddlers touching everything. They are really strict about their fever policy, so you can’t just drop a kid off if they’re under the weather—it’s a bit of a pain for working parents but honestly, it keeps the 'room-wide' colds down to a minimum. I also love that they actually remind the kids to wash their hands properly throughout the day. Only downside is communication can be a little slow if there’s just a minor sniffle going around, but for the big stuff, they're on top of it!
