Toured here recently and honestly, I was pretty underwhelmed with the cleanliness. For a center that’s supposed to be professional, the common areas felt really dusty and the air just felt stale, which made me worried about their ventilation since kids are always passing around colds. Also, I’ve heard from some other moms that the communication when a kid gets sick is super hit or miss. It feels like they are frequently understaffed, and when the teacher-to-child ratio is off like that, there’s no way they’re keeping up with handwashing or disinfecting the toys properly. For Chicago prices, I expected a way more hygienic environment for my toddler.

My toddler has been at Bright Little Leaders for about six months and honestly, they do a solid job. The rooms always look wiped down when I do drop-off, and you can tell they actually enforce the hand-washing because my kid comes home talking about it. They’re pretty strict with the fever policy—if a kid is sick, they go home, which is a bit of a pain for work but keep the rest of the class from catching everything. Communication is decent too; I usually get a message or a quick word at pickup if something like HFM or a stomach bug is going around the neighborhood. Just wish the outdoor play area was a little bigger for better 'fresh air' time, but overall it’s a clean and safe spot.
