  • Honestly, Barnard has been a solid experience for our family so far. The school actually holds a pretty high wellness rating compared to others in the district, and you can tell they prioritize the health of the little ones in the preschool program. The building is generally clean, and the staff is really communicative when a bug is going around the classroom, which I appreciate so I can keep my kid home and not spread it. They seem to take the wellness policy seriously without being over-the-top about it. It feels like a safe, healthy environment for the kids to actually focus on their work.

  • Honestly, Barnard is pretty solid when it comes to keeping the gross germs at bay. My youngest is in the preschool program and the teachers are super strict about handwashing, which I totally appreciate. They send home emails pretty quickly if there's a bug going around the classroom, so we're not totally blindsided. The building is an older CPS school so it's not like a sterile lab or anything, but it’s clean enough and they’re really good about the 'must be fever-free for 24 hours' policy before kids can come back.
