Francis W Parker Elementary Community Academy

I'm honestly pretty worried about the environment at Parker. Lately, it feels like there's always something breaking down—I’ve seen reports about leaking lines and constant plumbing repairs in the building. It makes me wonder about the air quality and if there’s mold hidden behind the walls from all those leaks. The school just feels run down, and the communication about these issues is basically non-existent. My kid complains that the teachers seem checked out and 'play favorites,' which doesn't exactly help with the stress and mental wellbeing side of things. It’s hard to feel good about sending your child to a place that feels like it’s literally falling apart under their feet.

My youngest is at Parker and honestly it's a bit of a mixed bag. The staff in the early childhood area are really sweet and definitely try their best to keep the classrooms clean, but with so many kids in one building, it feels like there's always a cold or something going around. I do wish they were a little faster about sending out notifications when several kids in a class are out sick so we can keep a better eye on symptoms at home. They're pretty strict about the fever-free policy though, which I appreciate even if it’s a hassle to find childcare last minute.
