  • My little one has been at Building Blocks for a bit now, and honestly, it’s a middle-of-the-road experience when it comes to the health side of things. I noticed they recently posted for a dedicated cook and emphasized nutrition, which is great because Chicago daycares can be hit or miss with snacks, but the actual day-to-day cleanliness feels just okay. Some days the facility smells super fresh, and other days I feel like the 'sick child' policy isn't being strictly followed because I see symptoms at drop-off that should probably be at home. They definitely try with the cleaning schedules, but since it’s a busy spot in Englewood, they probably need more hands on deck to keep up with the germs. It's not a dealbreaker, but I definitely keep my hand sanitizer ready in the car.

  • My little one started at Building Blocks when they were just a few months old, and I honestly feel really comfortable with the staff there. They are super prompt about calling if there’s a fever or if a kiddo is acting off, which is a big relief since Englewood can be hit or miss with quality care. The rooms always look wiped down and smell clean when I do pickup, plus they've been pretty strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule lately to keep the germs from spreading too much. My only small gripe is that communication about minor sniffles can be a little slow sometimes, but overall, it's a solid, healthy spot for the babies.
