  • Honestly, I’m pretty worried about the environment at Bond Elementary. My kid comes home talking about how the school is constantly messy, and I’ve seen some news lately about major concerns with cleanliness and even some equipment being broken for a long time. It feels like the building isn't being kept up—there was even a work order for a cleaning machine that had a broken hose for months, which might explain why the floors always look so dingy. Between the issues with staffing cuts and the general state of the facility, it doesn't feel like wellness is the priority. There’s enough to worry about in Englewood without having to wonder if the school building itself is making the kids sick.

  • Honestly, Bond Elementary is okay when it comes to the health stuff, but it's definitely an older building vibe. My 2nd grader says the soap dispensers are usually filled now, which is an improvement from last year! They’re pretty strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, so be prepared for those 'come pick up your kid' calls. The nurse is super sweet, but she's only there a few days a week since she splits time with other schools, which can be a pain if something happens on an off-day. Overall, they try their best with the resources they have in Englewood, it's just your typical big city public school struggle.
