  • Honestly, keeping it real for the other Beverly moms—I’m pretty stressed about the situation at Sutherland lately. The school's chronic absenteeism is over 25%, and you can really feel that lack of stability. It feels like there is always something going around and the communication from the office on health protocols is basically nonexistent. I also saw some budget notes about broken vacuums and maintenance issues, which explains why the classrooms don't exactly feel fresh or super clean. With the school being 'partially organized' on the 5Essentials report, it definitely feels like health and wellness are taking a backseat to just trying to keep the doors open. If your kid has allergies or a sensitive immune system, just be aware that the upkeep here isn't what it used to be.

  • Sutherland is overall pretty solid with health stuff. The classrooms always seem clean and I've seen the staff wiping down high-touch areas even when it's not flu season, which is a relief. They're definitely strict about the '24 hours fever-free' rule before bringing kids back, which can be a pain for working parents, but it really makes a difference in keeping those classroom bugs from spreading like wildfire. My only real gripe is that communication about local outbreaks can be a little slow sometimes—I usually hear about a stomach bug from the other moms in our group chat before getting the official email from the school office.
