Newberry is okay, but I've got mixed feelings about the health vibe lately. On one hand, the school talks a lot about 'lifelong wellness' in their curriculum, which sounds great in theory, but the day-to-day reality in the building feels a bit different. The nurse isn't there every day, which makes me nervous if my kid has an actual emergency or just a bad asthma flare-up. Communication when a bug is going around the classroom is pretty hit or miss too—sometimes we get an email, sometimes we just hear about it from other parents on WhatsApp. It’s also an older building, so while it isn't 'gross,' you definitely notice the poor ventilation in some of the basement-level areas. Honestly, it feels like they’re doing the bare minimum CPS requirements, but I wouldn't say they're going above and beyond for student health.
