Clybourn Kindercare

Honestly, I have some mixed feelings about the health situation at Clybourn KinderCare. While the location is super convenient for those of us around Lincoln Park, it feels like my little one is constantly bringing home every single bug that goes around. The communication regarding illnesses in the classroom is pretty hit or miss; sometimes I’ll get a notice, and other times I find out from another parent in the parking lot. The ratios inside the classrooms often feel a bit stretched, which leads me to believe the staff isn't always able to keep up with the constant sanitizing or keeping an eye on the kiddos who are clearly showing symptoms but haven't been sent home yet. For what we pay, I really expected a much tighter ship when it comes to hygiene and wellness policies.

My toddler has been at the Clybourn KinderCare for about 6 months now and I’ve been pretty happy with how they handle the usual daycare germs. The facility on Marcey St always smells clean when I walk in, not like old milk or anything gross. They’re super strict about their sick policy—if a kid has a fever, they have to be 24-hour symptom-free before coming back—which is a total pain when it's your kid, but I appreciate that it keeps the whole class from getting taken out at once. They send out emails pretty fast whenever something like hand, foot, and mouth is going around, so at least we’re prepared. Only downside is that the outdoor play area is a bit small, but they do their best to keep the kids active and moving even when they're stuck inside.
