  • UChicago Lab Schools' preschool program is generally good when it comes to health and safety, though there's always room for improvement. The cleanliness is commendable; classrooms usually look tidy, and they seem to be regularly sanitizing. Illness communication is decent – we get emails about confirmed cases, but sometimes it feels like it could be more proactive or detailed. The sick policy is clearly stated, and they do seem to enforce it, which is reassuring. However, there have been a few instances where we felt a child was sent back to school too soon. Staff responsiveness to health concerns is a mixed bag; some teachers are incredibly attentive, while others can be a bit slow to reply. Overall, we feel our child is in a safe environment, but staying vigilant is key.
