  • Honestly, I have really mixed feelings about The Pineapple School on Roosevelt. The facility itself is just okay, but there are some definite health red flags. It feels super understaffed most days, and when the teacher-to-child ratio gets that high, things like hand-washing and wiping down toys definitely start to slip. My little one seems to bring home a new bug every single week, and I rarely get a heads-up from the office about what’s going around. The sick policy is written down, but they don't seem to enforce it strictly, so you’ll see kids with clear symptoms in the classroom. Being on the first floor of an older building in North Lawndale, I also worry about the ventilation and general cleanliness. It’s affordable, but I’m constantly stressed about the next flu or cold coming home because it just doesn't feel like a very 'well' environment.
