  • Honestly, finding a daycare in Uptown that actually feels clean is a struggle, but Seeds of Joy has been a pleasant surprise. My son goes there a couple of days a week and I’ve been really happy with how they handle wellness. They actually incorporate a lot of 'wellness' into the kids' routine—not just talking about health but actually focusing on being active and having a peaceful environment. The 'Fitness Center' aspect is a huge plus because it gets their energy out even when the weather is typical Chicago gloom. The facility usually smells fresh (not like bleach but just clean) and I haven’t seen the 'perpetual runny nose' cycle here as much as I did at our last spot. The staff is pretty transparent if something is going around, so I don't feel like I'm walking into a germ trap every morning. It’s a solid 4 stars for me because it feels like they actually care about the kids' overall vibe and health, not just keeping them in a room.

  • Honestly, this place is okay but it's such a mixed bag when it comes to the actual health environment. On one hand, I love that they have been trying to integrate more wellness programs and even have a little bit of a fitness focus for the kids, which you don't always see at daycare. On the other hand, being in an older residential-style building in Uptown means the ventilation isn't always the best, and I feel like when one kid gets a sniffle, the whole class has it by Tuesday. Communication about illnesses is decent, but they could definitely be stricter about the 24-hour fever-free rule because I keep seeing kids dropped off who look pretty rough. It’s a nice neighborhood spot, but definitely bring your own hand sanitizer and expect the usual daycare germs.
