  • I'm really on the fence about Ronald Brown. On one hand, it's nice having a community-based school for preschool through 8th, but the attendance issues here are a total red flag. The chronic absenteeism rate is super high, and honestly, you can tell when you walk in—it feels like there’s always a bug going around because the school doesn't seem to have a solid handle on wellness or keeping kids in class. Plus, the student-to-teacher ratio is a struggle; when classes are that packed, my kid basically gets ignored if they're feeling under the weather or just need a mental break. It feels like they're constantly pulling back funding for student support programs lately, which is the last thing these kids need. Communication about health stuff is hit or miss, and I just don't feel like the 'wellness' culture is actually a priority for the administration right now.

  • Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with how things are going at Ronald Brown. The attendance rates here are a huge red flag—it feels like kids are constantly out sick, and I don't see much being done about the wellness culture. The school is in an older building and you can really tell; the ventilation feels stuffy and I’ve heard other parents complaining about general cleanliness issues in the common areas. It's tough because it's a community academy, but it feels like the health of the students is an afterthought. With the absenteeism as high as it is, it makes it hard for my kid to stay on track when the whole classroom vibe is constantly disrupted by illness. I really wish they would prioritize some building upgrades or at least be more transparent about how they're handling health protocols.
