  • Honestly, I’m really frustrated with the health situation at Oglesby. The chronic absenteeism is over 40%, which tells you everything you need to know about how often kids are getting sick and staying home here. It feels like there’s a permanent bug going around because the building just doesn't feel clean or well-ventilated. Communication from the office about illness outbreaks is basically non-existent, and with the student-to-teacher ratios being as high as they are, there is no way the staff can keep up with sanitizing desks or making sure kids are actually washing their hands. It’s hard to focus on learning when the environment feels this neglected from a wellness standpoint.

  • Honestly, I’m pretty frustrated with the situation at Oglesby. The school feels like it's constantly struggling with the basics—the attendance is really low and there are way too many kids chronically absent, which tells me the wellness culture just isn't there. It feels like whenever a bug goes around, it just rips through the classrooms because the sick-policy enforcement is nonexistent. Also, the building itself is showing its age in ways that worry me; I saw maintenance orders for broken glass and other repairs that seem to take forever to get fixed. When you've got a high student-to-teacher ratio and a building that feels a bit neglected, the kids' health and safety definitely take a backseat. It's hard to feel good about sending your kid into an environment that feels this overwhelmed and under-resourced.
