  • Mayer is okay, but it definitely feels like a typical big city school where things can get a bit hectic. My biggest gripe is how they handle the 'sick season'—the communication when things like hand, foot, and mouth or the flu start going around the classrooms is pretty hit or miss. It's Lincoln Park, so you expect everything to be top-tier, but the school is an older building and you can tell the ventilation isn't the best in some of the wings. On the plus side, I do appreciate that they've been part of the recent safety and security updates, and they seem to be trying to stay on top of the physical building maintenance lately. It’s not perfect, and I wish the nurse was there more consistently, but it's fine for a CPS school.
