Honestly, I’m pretty worried about the environment at Ryerson for my kid. The building is super old and you can really tell—there’s been talk about infrastructure grants for years but it feels like the actual updates, especially for stuff like ventilation and basic cleanliness, are lagging. The student-to-teacher ratio is high too, which means the staff is spread way too thin to really keep an eye on kids who are coming in under the weather. With absenteeism being such a big issue in the area, it feels like there’s a constant cycle of bugs going around. I wish they’d prioritize the actual physical health of the school more because it just feels gritty and neglected most days.
