First Academy

To be honest, I'm pretty stressed about the health situation at First Academy. It’s a convenient spot in West Ridge, but the cleanliness is a total hit or miss. Lately, it feels like there's always something going around, and I don't feel like they're being as transparent as they should be when a kid in the class gets sick. The communication is just really spotty; I usually find out about a bug from other moms in a group chat before I hear anything from the staff. For a 'High Risk' facility according to city records, I’d expect a much tighter ship when it comes to sanitizing and keeping things organized. It's frustrating because the teachers are nice enough, but I'm constantly worrying about what my little one is picking up from the carpets or shared toys.

My two-year-old has been at First Academy for a few months now and honestly, I'm pretty relieved with how they handle the usual daycare germs. Their sick policy is definitely strict—if your kid has a fever, they are firm about the 24-hour rule—but because of that, I feel like the classroom isn't just a revolving door of colds. The West Ridge location is convenient for us, and the facility always smells clean when I do drop-offs, not that weird 'old milk' smell some places have. They’re great about shooting over an update on the app if something like hand, foot, and mouth is going around, so at least I’m not flying blind!
