Blooming Bud Daycare

To be honest, I’m pretty frustrated with how things are handled at Blooming Bud. The space is split over two floors but it feels really cramped, and I’ve noticed the ventilation isn't great, especially in the winter months. It seems like every time one kid gets a sniffle, the whole class is down for a week because they aren't strict enough about the sick-child policy. I've walked in and seen kids with obvious fevers still in the play area. Communication from the staff about local outbreaks is hit or miss, which is stressful when you’re trying to keep your own family healthy. It definitely feels more like a crowded neighborhood spot than a high-end wellness-focused center. I really wish they would step up the deep cleaning and enforce the 'stay home' rules more consistently.

Honestly, Blooming Bud has been a solid choice for us. The facility on Lincoln Ave is always pretty clean when I drop off, and they’re really strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a pain for my work schedule but I totally appreciate that it keeps the 'room-clearing' stomach bugs at bay. They send home quick updates if something like hand-foot-and-mouth is going around our floor, so I’m never totally blindsided. My only minor gripe is that they could probably use a bit more outdoor playtime when the weather is nice, but overall the staff really cares about the kids' well-being and they’re great about keeping up with handwashing routines.
