  • DACC is a decent neighborhood daycare, especially since it's connected to our community center, but it feels a bit basic when it comes to health policies. The facility is older and while they try to keep it clean, the ventilation isn't the best, so when one kid gets a sniffle, it usually goes through the whole class pretty quickly. I wish they were a bit more strict with the 'stay home' rules because I've seen kids dropped off with pretty obvious coughs lately. It's affordable and the staff is very kind, but don't expect any fancy wellness programs or updated health tech here. It's just a standard, older Chicago daycare setup.

  • My toddler has been at DACC for a few months and honestly, I’m pretty happy with how they handle things. The daycare stays really clean, and I don't see those typical 'daycare germs' lingering around as much as I expected. They are super strict about their sick policy—if your kid has a fever, they have to stay home for 24 hours without meds—which can be a hassle for work, but it definitely keeps the whole class from getting sick at once. The staff is really good about texting or calling if something feels off with my little one’s energy or if there's an injury. It’s a smaller, community feel so you know they’re actually watching the kids, just wish they had a bit more outdoor space for more active play.
