First Academy

To be honest, I’ve been pretty underwhelmed with how things are handled at First Academy. It’s a 'High Risk' facility according to city health records, and you can kind of tell when you walk in. The staff seems spread really thin, so I don't think the deep cleaning is happening as often as it should. My little one has come home with a random cough or sniffles almost every other week since starting here. Communication about sickness in the classroom is pretty hit-or-miss too; I usually find out from another parent in the parking lot rather than an official notice from the school. It’s convenient for the West Ridge area, but if you’re big on wellness and a super-sanitized environment, you might want to look elsewhere.

Sending my little one to First Academy was a big step, but I've been pretty happy with how they handle the health side of things. The West Ridge location is kept really tidy, and you can tell they actually scrub the toys down. They’re super strict about the 24-hour fever-free rule, which can be a pain when you have to call out of work, but it definitely keeps the nasty bugs from spreading through the whole class every week. My only tiny gripe is sometimes the communication about a kid having a runny nose in the room is a bit slow, but overall, it feels like a really safe and clean environment for a daycare.
