Dunne Technology Academy

I honestly have a lot of concerns about the health environment at Dunne. The chronic absenteeism rate is super high, which usually means kids are either constantly sick or the school just doesn't have the support in place to help families stay on top of wellness. Since it's a smaller school, you'd think there would be more eyes on the kids, but with the lack of resources in our area, it feels like basic things like deep cleaning and regular nurse availability get pushed to the side. It's frustrating because when there's a bug going around, it just rips through the classrooms and communication from the front office about it is pretty much non-existent.

Honestly, I have some mixed feelings about Dunne. While they just got some funding for modernization, the actual day-to-day health environment feels pretty neglected. My biggest worry is the chronic absenteeism—it's super high here, which really makes you wonder how well they’re actually tracking illnesses or if kids are just staying home because the building feels run down. The attendance rates across the neighborhood schools like this one are usually a red flag, and it feels like we are constantly fighting off bugs that just cycle through the classrooms. The school gets some tech upgrades, but I’d honestly prefer they spent more on better ventilation and making sure we have enough staff to actually monitor the kids' well-being. It feels like the kids are just numbers in a budget transfer sometimes rather than being in a healthy learning spot.
