Ray is okay, but it definitely feels like a typical big city school where things are just 'fine.' The building itself is pretty old and you can tell it needs more than just the quick fixes it gets; there’s always something about repairs in the budget and it makes you wonder about the air quality and general upkeep in some of those older classrooms. Communication regarding when bugs or viruses are going around is hit or miss—usually, it’s just a generic email from CPS rather than something specific from the nurse. It’s not terrible, but it feels like the staff is spread pretty thin, especially in the larger middle school grades. I wish there was more of a focus on actual wellness and modernizing the facility instead of just playing catch-up with maintenance.
