  • Prairieland is generally pretty good with the kids, but being a city daycare/school in such a busy area of Wicker Park, the germs just cycle through constantly. My kid has had a recurring cough since we started, and while they do have a sick child policy, it feels like it's selectively enforced depending on who is at the front desk that morning. The space is beautiful and very 'Montessori' with the natural materials, but those wooden toys are definitely harder to deep clean than plastic ones. I wish they were a bit more proactive about notifying us when something like HFM or a stomach bug is making the rounds instead of waiting until half the class is out. It's a solid middle-of-the-road choice for wellness, just don't expect a sterile environment.
