Philip Rogers Elementary School

To be honest, I’m getting pretty worried about the state of the building at Rogers. My kid comes home talking about weird smells, and after seeing the recent board agendas about emergency plumbing repairs for the floor drains and lightwells, it all makes sense. It’s gross to think about what’s backed up in the pipes while the kids are trying to learn. Plus, they’re literally putting in requests for broken carpet cleaners—it feels like the cleaning staff is fighting a losing battle with old equipment. With how dense the classes are getting in West Ridge, it feels like germs just linger because the building is struggling to keep up. I really hope CPS puts some money into the actual bones of the school soon because the 'wellness' side of things definitely feels like it’s slipping.
