I really want to love Brunson because of the math and science focus, but the health environment is honestly stressful. My biggest issue is the attendance and how often kids are out sick; chronic absenteeism is over 30% here, and you can really feel it in the hallways. It feels like there's always something going around and the school isn't doing enough to get ahead of it. With a student-teacher ratio around 28:1, the classrooms are just too crowded for the teachers to keep an eye on hygiene or notice when a kid's looking under the weather before it spreads. It's tough because the staff is trying, but the resources clearly aren't there to keep the building as clean or as healthy as it needs to be for our kids.
