Charming Children Before and After School

Honestly, the experience here has been pretty stressful. While the location is convenient for Austin commuters, the physical space feels really cramped and honestly doesn't look like it gets a deep clean as often as it should. There's been a few times I've walked in and it just smells stale, which makes me worry about the ventilation. They aren't great about notifying us when something is going around, so I feel like I'm constantly surprised by a new bug my kid brings home. With the ratios being what they are, the staff seems too spread thin to really focus on cleaning toys or making sure the kids are washing their hands properly. It feels more like a holding cell than a wellness-focused environment.

Honestly, I’ve been really happy with how they handle things at Charming Children. The facility always smells clean when I walk in to pick up my daughter, which is a big relief considering how many germs kids bring home from school. They are super on top of it when it comes to notifying parents if a bug is going around the class, so I actually feel like I have a heads-up before my kid starts sneezing. Their sick policy is fair but firm—they don't let kids stay if they have a fever, which keeps the rest of the group a bit safer. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the outdoor play area is a bit small, but they definitely prioritize handwashing and keeping the inside spaces tidy.
