Honestly, sending my kid to O'Toole is a constant worry. The attendance rates in this part of CPS are always a struggle, and it feels like the school is just perpetually short-staffed, which makes it impossible to keep the classrooms actually clean. My daughter has been home with a stomach bug twice this semester already, and I barely get any heads-up from the office about what’s going around. It’s like they’re just trying to keep the doors open and the 'wellness' side of things is a complete afterthought. The building itself feels pretty dated and stuffy, so I’m not surprised everyone is always passing germs around. I wish they’d prioritize better ventilation and actually communicate with us parents when half the class is out sick.
