  • Honestly, I’m pretty concerned about the conditions at Jordan Elementary lately. There was a recent public report about chiller leaks and overdue maintenance, and you can definitely feel it in the building—the air quality and temperature are totally hit or miss. It's frustrating because for a 'community school' that's supposed to be a hub for our kids, the actual infrastructure seems like it's falling apart. When the AC or heat isn't regulated properly, it feels like every germ in Rogers Park just lingers in the classrooms, and it seems like there's always a bug going around. The staff tries their best, but they can't fix a building that isn't being maintained. I really wish CPS would prioritize the physical health of the facility so our kids aren't sitting in damp or poorly ventilated rooms all day.

  • Honestly, I’m pretty concerned about the state of the building at Jordan. Just looking through the recent school board agendas, there are constant issues with the basic infrastructure—broken vacuum systems, clogged hoses, and even gas valve repairs. It makes you wonder how deep the cleanliness issues go if they can't even keep the cleaning equipment running properly. Between the dust and the poor ventilation, my kid's allergies have been acting up way more than usual lately. Plus, being a CPS school in a high-density area, the chronic absenteeism is always a struggle, and it feels like there’s a new bug going around the classroom every other week. I love the community vibe of the neighborhood, but it’s hard to feel great about the 'wellness' side of things when the facility maintenance is so hit-or-miss.
